Shangri-La Bangkok

After Dusit Thani closed down I have search for a new home away from home and it seems like I decided on Shangri-La Bangkok…

Shangri-La Bangkok is located along the river with stunning views. It is a 5 star hotel which hosts everything one can want and more. The service is on top and amemneties grreat. Their breakfast buffét has everything and more that one can want from indian food to gelato.

In this writing moment we have stayed at the hotel 3 times and we always stay in Horizon Club room.. With the club room you get access to the club lounge where you can have breakfast (though the huge buffét on floor one is preferred and a must to check out!), Afternoon tea between 2-4 pm and cocktail hours (two hours of free drinks and food such as mini meatballs and cheeses, fruit and desserts).

The hotel have a great pool area with plenty of sun chairs, some with a nice view over the busy river. There is always water available at the check-in desk and of course they serve food around the pool. Another nice service is the pool-side massage tent.

The breakfast buffe in the lounge is small in comparison to the one on lvl 1, which serves food from all over the world. They have sushi, tikka masala and gelato, a great egg station where you can get eggs benedict or eggs in any form, and of course they have all the regular breakfast items.

The location of the hotel is okay depending on where in Bangkok you are going. It is closley located to the BTS (sky train), if you want to get to the shopping malls such as MBK or Siam Paragon. They are also located to the new modern night market / food market area Asiatique. the hotel is within walking distance of the shopping mall Robinson.
