Strip steak by Michael Mina - Miami

Strip steak by Michael Mina - Miami

So for our last night in Miami we wanted to try what they had to offer in the steakhouse category and ended up choosing StripSteak by Michael Mina.

Stripsteak by Michael Mina is located in the iconic hotel Fountainbleau, which was about 15 minutes from our hotel. We used the Freebee cart ride to get there.

Once there we were treated with by the most impeccable service we’ve had in the USA. We asked for recommendation on the dishes and ended up trying them, which turned out to be a great decision.

For starter we had the tuna tartar, which they mixed table side and the Instant bacon, both delicious dishes.

For main course we both chose the on the bone strip steak medium rare with a trio of sides; Parmesan and truffle fries, creamed spinach and sautéed mushrooms and onions.

To end a great meal we opted to share a creme brûlée, luckily the waiter suggested we’d share one (it was a bowl)

All in all a great evening with outstanding service, good food, and wine, but the price kinds of kills the mood a little. Would I recommend coming here? Yes, at least once you need to be attended like a royalty as they treat you here. Would I come back? For the service absolutley, not for steaks or wine, however they have a vast menu that is proabably very delicious.

Review Summary:

  • Food: 4/5

    • The starters was outstanding! Especially liked that they prepared the tuna tartar table side. The steaks were good, but not the best..

  • Service: 6/5

    • Outstanding service from start to finish. Great hosts that greeted us and our waiter was great!

  • Atmosphere: 4/5

    • Good atmopshere, up scale. When we arrive there was some sports game going on in the bar which made it a little noisy, but when it finished it was fine.

  • Price: $$$$$

    • Might be the most expensive dinner I’ve ever had. Steakhouse with a huge selection of wine. Was it worth it? The service made it worth it, the food not too much and their wine was very very expensive.
We had: 2 starters, 2 steaks with a trio of sides, 1 dessert and 2 glases of champagne, 1 bottle of red wine, adding up to a staggering 457,20 dollars (including service charge 18%)…

  • Extra points for outstanding things:

    • 2p for service; we were well tended to from the second we arrived until we left. Great suggestions for courses, and very attentative staff.

  • Tips and tricks: Make a reservation and make a budget.

Total 16/15 points which means it is worth a visit
