Torekov Hotel

Because we had driven all the way down to the west coast we couldn’t just stay at one hotel and decided to try another hotel and golf course whilst in the area; Torekov Hotel.

We have friends with summer houses in Torekov and the area is well known for their upper class clientel. I was really excited to go there. I’ve been in Båstad which is close by many times, but never in Torekov.

There wasm’t too many options for hotels, but our friend recommended Torekov Hotel, and they had good package deals. We booked a package deal which included two green fees (4, for two ppl). We also chose their suite in separate house, to have enough space with H.The house had 1 suite and two delux rooms, so our whole party (my parents and another friend in the other rooms) could fit in one house. The house also ahd two ground floor terraces. Also included in the price was SPA, three course dinner each nigh and breakfast. Our package for a a 2 night stay (Wednesday - Friday) cost 8 262 SEK (814 € / 993 $).

We had played our first golf round in the morning at Torekov Golf course so we had our check in around 15:30 (3:30 PM). Actually my parents had already checked us in when we arrived. I had to drive our friend R back to Halmstad, so I left J to unpack our things and went of. Due to heavy traffic the drive back an forth took much longer than expected and I arrived back just in time for dinner.

The dinner included in our package was a three course dinner and they had a nice selection. You basically got to choose a starter, a main course, and a dessert from the á la carte menue. The food was very good, however the portions a little small, even for me, and I’m no big eater.
After dinner we went to bed since we had our second golf round the following day at Båstad Golf Club.

The breakfast buffé was great! They had everything one could ask for. After breakfast we went golfing. The weather was cloudy and chilly winds combined with drizzles of rain. The golf round left me freezing to the bone, so as soon as we got back we headed to the warm baths in the SPA.
The SPA was okay, not too impressive. The Japanese pools was two stainless steel tubs. The indoor area was tiny, but the relax area was nice, however we didn’t use it.

The dinner was from the same á la carte menu, which was fine since you then got to try more options. If you stay longer you might want to search for additional dinner options.

Review Summary:

  • Rooms: 4/5

    • We stayed in a suite in a hotel house which had a living room with a sofa bed, a small dinner table and then a huge double bed and bath in the other room. The room was really nice.

  • Service: 4/5

    • The service was good, nothing outstanding. The staff was nice and helpful and the service at dinner swift and welcoming. Since we were 6 people (H in his stroller) and the maximum amount of people per table is 4 they had to split our party in two, but they arranged for us to have tables next to eachother.

  • Bed: 4/5

    • Love the look of the bed, the comfort was okay, pillows were great!

  • Amenities: 4/5

    • The SPA was good, clean and nice. Relax area had nice views. I would recommend going in the summer time when you could use the outdoor pool area (out door pool was not heated).

  • Price: $$$

    • Our golf package for a a 2 night stay (Wednesday - Friday) cost 8 262 SEK (814€ / 993 $) including SPA; breakfast, and Three course dinner for both nights. However this was in their low season.

    • The same package in the beginning of August costs around 11 682 SEK (1 150€ / 1 404 $)

  • Stars: 4

  • Extra points for outstanding things: 0

    • Nothing was outstanding, but everything was very good

  • Tips and tricks: Try to go during weekday, it is much cheaper, also try to go of season if you want a better price. Their package deals are well priced.

Total 16/20 which means that this place is worth a visit.
