Hotel Tylösand

The first golf trip of the year! Since it was quite a drive we decided to stay at two places. The first one being Hotel Tylösand.

Finally the weather is starting to get a little warmer and the golf courses are opening up. Since the weather is a little bit better in the southern parts of Sweden we were looking to take a trip south and we ended up choosing Västkusten. Our good friend R which we haven’t seen in a while lives down there so we decided to take some extra nights and hang out with him as well.

Since we didn’t know much about the area we asked R to recommed a hotel, and he recommended Hotel Tylösand. Since it was the first time travelling with H we decided to stay in a bigger room to be sure we had enough space for his travel bed, stroller and all other stuff. We booked a delux room with ground floor outdoor terrace, which would be great with the baby. The room also included breakfast, but not the SPA. Since there was an age limit to the upper floor of the SPA we weren’t sure that we would visit it. Our package for a a 2 night stay (Monday-Wednesday) cost 4 580SEK (452 € / 547 $).

The drive from Stockholm was about 6/7 hours and took about 8 hours due to extra stops with the baby. The roads were good so it wasn’t too hard to drive. We checked in around 16:00 (4:00 PM). The staff was very nice and welcoming. We decided to have dinner at the hotel and they booked us a table at 18:00 (6:00PM).
The food was great and well priced. Service was outstanding.

The following day we decided to meet R and hang out in the SPA. The staff was very nice and we got to bring H to the no-kids area since he is still so little he mostly sleeps in his stroller. There weren’t too many guests that could be disturbed either, so that was really nice of them to allow us up. We of course promised to leave if he would make a fuss.
The SPA was really nice, and I’m so glad we got to enjoy the secpnd floor. Also since there was only about 6 other people in the whole SPA we hade plenty of space for our selves.
In the afternoon more people started coming in so we decided to go to the first floor and have a late lunch. The food was fresh and great!

In the evening we decided to have room service which was the only negative part of the stay. The room service took more than 1 hour to get to us. The staff was really nice and made our drinks complimentary. The only downside was that they rang the doorbell around 21:00 (9:00PM) to pick up the wagon and woke up H, instead of us just putting it outside the door which was the initial instructions. Quite annoying since they were aware of us having a baby in the room.

The breakfast was served buffét style which was great. I love a breakfast buffét, especially with an egg chef! Huge plus! Also I really miss buffés during COVID-times, even if it is understandable. The breakfast did not leave anything out and it was a great start to the day.

Review Summary:

  • Rooms: 5/5

    • We stayed in a De Luxe room with ground floor terrace. The room was very spacious and love the terrace.

  • Service: 5/5

    • The service throughout the hotel was great. Extra plus for letting us use the SPA,The only little negative was the room service part, especially when knocking on the door late at night so that was a minus.

  • Bed: 4/5

    • Double bed, but not with one mattress on the top so you can fall in between, this always ticks me the wrong way. I want my double bed to be a double bed, not to separate beds next to each other.

  • Amenities: 5/5

    • The SPA was great! Especially the upper floor. The service was outstanding service wise.

  • Price: $$$$

    • Our delux room included breakfast and 2 nights cost 4 580SEK (452 € / 547 $). However note that this was during low season. During summer the prices are much higher, and of course even higher during weekends.

  • Stars: 4

  • Extra points for outstanding things: 0

    • I would say the service based on the SPA & restaurant staff, but then minus for the room service.

  • Tips and tricks: Try to go on the weekdays, the price is lower. Also try to get the package including dinner and SPA, it is worth it and you save a little bit of.

Total 19/20 which means that this place is definitely worth a visit.
